York United, now officially known as Inter Toronto Football Club, unveiled its new name and crest on November 27. This rebranding marks a significant evolution for the club, which aims to represent a growing community through soccer. The new identity reflects the club's commitment to showcasing homegrown talent and its ambition to strengthen Canadian soccer. The redesigned crest features a stylized 'T' in Trillium White, surrounded by Lake Ontario Blue and Tower Stone grey, symbolizing the club's connection to Toronto's iconic skyline and rivers. Club owner Ricardo Pasquel emphasized the importance of this change, stating that Inter Toronto will serve as a symbol of opportunity and resilience in the community. The club, originally known as York9 FC at its inception in 2019, has undergone several transformations, including a previous rebranding to York United FC in December 2020. The recent ownership changes have fueled this new direction, with the club now part of Game Plan Sports Group. Inter Toronto will continue to play its home games at York Lions Stadium while exploring options for a new venue closer to the city center, aiming to enhance its presence in Toronto.
